Individual Supervision - Guidelines

Kindly read through the guidelines below carefully before booking a supervision session. The same would be sent to you as a form over email for consent before the session.

ABOUT

Supervision is a helping relationship wherein a mental health professional takes the help of another professional(s) to review their work with their clients. It is facilitated both in-person and online. It works on an appointment basis only and is not meant for emergency situations or crises.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All information and material discussed during the supervision will be recorded and kept confidential. The records will be stored safely and will not be available to any other third party unless there is a need to release them (like as required by law). The supervisor works as a team and would sometimes require sharing the proceedings for the training of professionals. In this case, complete anonymity will be maintained. However, despite safety measures taken, there are chances for breach in technological security. In such cases, both the supervisor and the supervisee will not hold each other responsible for the breach.

DURATION, PRICING AND CANCELLATION

Each session will be for 45 minutes and charged INR 600. You will be required to submit an ID (student ID, government ID) before the session. The session fees are bound to revisions. For cancellations before 48 hours from the session time, the fees will be transferred to the next session upon rescheduling. For cancellations with less than 48 hours, full fee will be charged. If a session is not cancelled but the supervisee, does not show within the first 10 minutes of the session, full fee will be charged in this case as well. Reschedules are also allowed 48 hours before the session time. There will be no refunds and/or transfer of session fees to someone else.

RIGHTS AND
RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision is a voluntary service. The supervisee has the freedom to withdraw from these sessions at any time they wish. The supervisor may also temporarily stop or discontinue these sessions and/or recommend any other method (including making referrals to other professionals) if either of them experience any difficulty in the process.

Online supervision has its own limitations as compared to in-person sessions and some details could potentially be missed out despite the supervisor’s best efforts. The supervisor would use their professional discretion to provide required recommendations at any given point of time. At the same time, the supervisee does not hold the supervisor responsible, should any adverse events, such as lack of improvement, deterioration or situations of potential risk of harm to self or others, occur for the supervisee’s client(s).

RECOMMENDATIONS

It is recommended that the supervisor and the supervisee meet at least once a month to work together consistently. However, the frequency can be higher depending on both of their availability and client load.
